Cart and bull .

A jewelry box with a a " bull " as part of the lid . Really for this series of jewelry boxes " eight of them " this is The Cart and Bull Box , I made one for each verse to the Mockingbird song . This wasn't the most complex that was the looking glass box , but it's interesting to note that yoke on the bullock is actually carved as a separate piece . Like many of my projects I didn't take pictures of all of them . I'll post the ones I did . The box is bass wood with walnut stain and hand cut dovetail joinery . The gentleman who commissioned them took some pictures but he gave them as gifts and some of the people just never got around to taking pictures .

Pappa's gonna buy you a mockingbird

If that mockingbird don't sing
Pappa's gonna buy you a diamond ring

If that diamond ring turns brass
Pappa's gonna buy you a lookin' glass

If that lookin' glass gets broke
Pappa's gonna buy you billy goat

If that billy goat don't pull
Pappa's gonna buy you a cart and bull

If that cart and bull turns over
Pappa's gonna buy you a doggie named Rover

If that dog named Rover don't bark
Pappa's gonna buy you a horse and cart

If that horse and cart fall down
You'll still be the sweetest little baby in town
